Barbara in the emergency department is one of the rudest hospital staff I’ve ever spoken with in my life. This hospital should be ashamed of itself. My poor mom was forced to call 911 in the parking lot of the emergency room because they refused to come out and help her get inside despite telling her on the phone when she called earlier that they would. People in emergency situations shouldn’t have to deal with the cruelest of hospital staff in order to receive care. Absolutely appalling.

Have been three times recently for some kinda serious health issues. Wait times varied from appx 5 hours (they were slammed, and I was 100% non life threatening or severe pain) to 45 minutes to walking in after pre registering. All 3 times staff was great, nurses exceptional and care above reproach. Night shift nurses Sean and Chris are and absolute credit to their occupation, and the other nurses I encountered were awesome also. Try and remember they work long shifts and are understaffed. Anyone can have an off night, their human beings after all.

Our experience was one of exceptional care. We waited quite a long time to be seen but as soon as we arrived the nurse in triage took blood and administered an EKG. We were happy not to need priority status for care in the Emergency Department. Dr. Frausto was a gem as were the two nurses with whom we
...we interacted

I arrived by ambulance after a head injury, with broken bones in my face. The hospital staff attempted to prescribe my antibiotics, and I, while in a concussed state, yelled at the nurse and asked..."Why are you giving me a prescription for antibiotics? What I need is something for pain! "....Becuase I raised my voice, they alerted a police officer down the hall and had me kicked to the curb with 5 facial fractures. The police officer was kind and professional but followed the nurse's orders.

I was later told by a friendly nurse on staff that they not only completely missed the broken bones in my face (as the x-ray the took was of my chin area only and I had cheekbone/zigomatic fractures) but also that the staff genuinely confused me with a patient that had an infection in their leg and that was why they tried giving me antibiotics.

There is 1 kind nurse at this hospital, but the rest of my experience was the worst hospital care I've ever encountered in this world.

P.S.

I later heard rumors from this same nurse that the other patient lost part of their leg, so I consider myself lucky that they kicked me out before doing more harm to me. By the time I, days later, got proper care, my face couldn't be fully repaired, but at least I still have all of it!

What a terrible experience. Place was filthy. Front staff absolutely rude about asking to visit my wife. Intoxicated people wandering the hallways. Direct comment from the head nurse to ny wife "well what do you want us to do about it" when she explained why she was there. I could hear the staff bickering to each other in the hallways and tense they don't get along. I have had great experiences in the past but this one was really concerning. The filth. The corners dirty with yellow grime in room 1a. Also saw other patients paper work out in the open. Audit this place or something. Used to be one of the best

This place has become nightmare fuel! It used to be the best hospital in the region, what happened? It is run like an inner city "elsewhere": Under staffed by people with toxic attitudes, and utterly filthy and in disrepair wherever you look. What to Expect Here: wait times of 10 hours in the ER, people vomiting on the furniture and bleeding on the floor, moldy grimy bathrooms, random sticky surfaces, loud struggling industrial machinery in the vents, water damage on the ceiling and walls, paint missing from walls and tiles missing from floors, people crying for help forgotten in dark hallways, empty nursing stations with patient records abandoned in the open, overzealous rent-a-cops, and they just assume you are looking for opioids if your condition is not immediately obvious. If you value your life just go to Newport or Mass General if you can.

Had kidney stone that was most painful experience of my life. Went to ER and was treated like a North Korean prisoner. Six hours no blanket, no water, no pain meds, nothing. Nurse asked my son if I was always “so dramatic”. Stone passed on its own by end of day. Hospital did nothing except make a horrible experience much worse. I get so angry thinking in retrospect of how I was completely at their mercy - of which they seem to had none. But at least the experience cost several thousand dollars.
