A very impressive city hall didn't get to see the inside but would of like to.

Been coming here for 20 years both in the summer and winter. The most unwelcoming town for tourists. No hesitancy in letting you know what a bother you are. Came before OHVs were allowed in and had no issues. Once they allowed in OHVs, the welcome mat was rolled up. Town sheriff (Bruce) was abusive. We were not ticketed as we were following the rules (and in a jeep) but saw him harass other OHVs. So disappointed with the ugliness that has spewed out of this town.

Silverton was a cool little town till I got a ticket on a street that was prohibited by UTV's. The officer was undeniably rude by raising his voice on a matter that he had been fighting before we arrived. As a visitor, I should have got a warning instead of a ticket. I really don't think a person should get a ticket on a first offense especially if they were from out of town. I was coming to spend money there, but after that ticket, no way. If they don't want travelers to come to there town well that's a good way of pushing them away. Don't go to Silverton...they don't want tourist at all.

The town has been hit hard for the COVID closures. A shop owner was talking about how they are facing the threat of another closure.
